EA announced in a statement Thursday that Battlefield V has been delayed from its original Oct. 19 release date to Nov. 20.
The update was posted on the EA website. Oskar Gabrielson, the General Manager of DICE, says that while Battlefield V has received positive feedback from players who were able to get their hands on it during Closed Alphas at E3 and Gamescom, even receiving the award for Best Multiplayer Game at both shows, the developers must “make some meaningful improvements to the core gameplay experience, including adjusting the gameplay tempo, improving soldier visibility and reducing player friction.”
Battlefield V will have an open beta on Sept. 6, and delaying the game’s launch to November will allow the studio to take in the feedback from millions of players that will help improve the game. Regarding this, the statement reads:
We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War—a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together.
