Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon Delayed on Xbox One (Worldwide) and 3DS (in Europe)

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a nostalgic 8-bit platformer that resembles the NES Castlevania more than it resembles any contemporary title. It was announced that the game, a Kickstarter stretch goal and a prequel for the soon-to-be-released Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, will release on May 24 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita (surprisingly), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and PC. Yet, some of those platforms have been cursed with a delay for the release of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.

The European Nintendo 3DS version will now release on May 31 and the Xbox One version will have a worldwide release on June 6. The delay seems to be due to issues with setting up the game in certain platforms’ online stores from region to region. Inti Creates has apologized for the delays, stating that “This mistake is on us, and we sincerely apologize to the fans affected by this from the bottom of our hearts.” See their full delay announcement here.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon arrives today on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS (in everywhere but Europe) and on PC. It is available from these console’s online stores for $9.99 USD. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set for release sometime later this year.
