Monster Hunter: World Becomes Capcom’s Fastest-Selling Title
Images via CapcomCapcom revealed on its website Friday that Monster Hunter: World has become the company’s fastest-selling game in its 38-year history.
Since its release in January, the game has been a hit with both PS4 and Xbox One players, selling five million units in first three days of availability. It had outpaced every other release in the Monster Hunter series. This week, it reached six million in digital sales and units shipped to retailers.
Not only is the game outselling previous installments, but it’s also currently ranked as the top-selling paid game on both the Microsoft Store paid games list and PlayStation Store, ahead of both PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Madden.
While Capcom celebrates this moment, more treats are in store for Monster Hunter fans, as new playable content is on the way this spring.
As the game continues to engage gamers new and old, the gaming world can expect the latest entry in the series to grow even more in popularity.
