CD Projekt Red Delays Cyberpunk 2077 to September
Image via CD Projekt RedThursday via Twitter, CD Projekt Red announced that their flagship title Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed from its initial April release to Sept. 17. This comes just days after Square-Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake would be delayed from March to April. No word on if FF7R’s delay has anything to do with Cyberpunk’s.

“We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done,” the tweet reads. “We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.” You can expect Keanu Reeves to bless your computer screen perfectly rendered come September. R. Talsorian Games, the creators behind the Cyberpunk tabletop series Cyberpunk 2077 from which is adapted, also tweeted in support of the delay, citing their desire for their friends at CD Projekt Red to be “healthy and chill.”
Our friends at @CDPROJEKTRED have delayed the release of @CyberpunkGame and we absolutely support them in this. Taking the time to polish and test and do so in a way which puts less stress on the team is important. We love the folks at CDPR and want them healthy and chill.
