Original Life is Strange Voice Actress Returns to Role After SAG-AFTRA Strike

One of the losses during the long SAG-AFTRA videogame voice actor strike was writer and actress Ashly Burch as Life is Strange character Chloe Price. But with the strike now wrapped up after an agreement was reached between the union and videogame companies, Burch has returned to the recording room to reclaim her voice role.

Burch, who also plays Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn, was absent for prequel episodic game Life is Strange: Before the Storm, but a video (seen below) from Square Enix revealed that a special episode titled “Farewell” is coming soon. “Farewell” will have Burch and Hannah Telle return as Chloe Price and Max Caulfield, respectively. Chloe was voiced by non-union actress Rhianna DeVries in the three-episode prequel.

Burch was still present during the development of Before the Storm as a script consultant, making sure that the prequel was still faithful to the character. Still, the absence of Burch was felt by fans of the original game, who will certainly be happy with this new development. “Farewell” will be released with the deluxe edition of Before the Storm sometime in 2018.
