Luigi’s Mansion 3DS Release Date Announced

Luigi’s Mansion for 3DS finally has a release date as of today, Aug. 21. Hardcore Nintendo fans who refuse to trade in their 3DS can look for the game on Oct. 12 of this year. Originally released on the Gamecube in 2001, this remake was announced in a Nintendo Direct from March of this year.

For the uninitiated, Luigi’s Mansion is a single-player adventure game with lots of room-based puzzles. Luigi is out to save Mario this time with the help of his ghost vacuum, the Poltergust 3000. The game also saw a sequel on 3DS in 2013, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. This remake features a map on the 3DS touch screen, as well as a new boss rush mode. What it doesn’t feature, however, is a Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Naturally, fans are split into two camps: those preordering their copies of Luigi’s Mansion 3DS and those hoping this is a ploy to hold fans over for Luigi’s Mansion 3 on the Switch. Regardless, look or pine for this game on Oct. 12.
