Pokémon GO Adds Johto Legendary Beasts
Image via NianticEntei, Suicune and Raikou are now roaming the world of Pokemon Go. Developer Niantic announced that the trio of dog Pokemon, otherwise known as the “Legendary Beasts,” are the latest Legendary additions to the augmented reality game. Recently, we’ve seen Mewtwo and the Legendary Birds Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Lugia appear in the game for a limited time.
Similarly, Pokemon GO players can catch these pocket monsters starting today, until Oct. 31. Niantic details each beast and their location in their blog post:
Raikou, an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Americas.
Entei, a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout Europe and Africa.
Suicune, a Water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
But unlike the birds, the beasts will move to a different location on Sept. 30. Finally on Oct. 31, the beasts will move to a third and final location. This slightly resembles their behavior in the original Pokemon Gold and Silver Versions, where the three Pokemon roamed around Johto for the player to randomly encounter in tall grass.
Niantic adds that Raids will receive some changes—”EX Raid Battles” will go through a testing period starting Sept. 6, with the developer hoping to gather player feedback to further improve the Raid system.
Be on the lookout for Entei, Suicune and Raikou, and take a look at Niantic’s announcement on their blog.
