Pokémon Sun and Moon Trailer Shows Off Z-Moves, Diglett’s Lovely New Hair
Images via NintendoWe are in the final stretch of waiting for Pokémon Sun and Moon, and yet Nintendo is still pumping out trailers.
The latest trailer focuses on the starters’ once-per-battle special attacks called Z-Moves, a couple more Ultra Beasts, a group of mysterious and dangerous Pokémon, and a classic Pokémon getting a sweet new ‘do.
Incineroar’s schtick continues to be far more interesting than his design, as his Z-Move shows him conjuring a wrestling ring and body-slamming his opponent. Primarina sings to summon a Spirit Bomb made of water and pops it on her opponent. And Decidueye gets the best Z-Move befitting the best starter, as he shoots arrows at his opponent in a dive-bomb attack.
We also got to see a couple more Pokémon, including two more Ultra Beasts: UB-03 Lighting, who looks like a jumble of wires and plugs, and UB-05 Glutton, which is a big crab mouth thing. The Alola forms of Diglett and Dugtrio were officially revealed, as well, and they’re essentially the same except for the beautiful locks of golden hair they’re now sporting. According to a press release, the hair is actually made of “hairlike metallic whiskers which grow from the top of their heads as a survival mechanism for the hostile volcanic environment.” Apparently Diglett and Dugtrio are “revered as an incarnation of the god of the land,” continuing the Alola people’s tradition of worshipping the less conventionally appealing Pokémon.
Pokémon Sun and Moon land on Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 18, just four days from now, so make sure you wipe your schedule clean before Friday.
