Rockstar Games has developed a smartphone application that complements the forthcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. The companion app will launch alongside the game, which is being released later this week.
The app will deliver real-time information to your Android or iOS device, letting you view the videogame’s world map and interact with it by placing waypoints or marking areas of interest. The app will also show you the stats and core info of Arthur Morgan, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2, in real time. The intention behind this feature is that it will allow you to remove the in-game HUD so that you can view the world’s gorgeous visuals and intense action without the HUD in the way.
In a post on the company’s official site, Rockstar Games also shared that the smartphone application “lets you examine Arthur’s in-game Journal, provides stat tracking through Social Club, contains the full digital game manual, plus an optional digital version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide from Piggyback and more.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 and its companion app are due out on Oct. 26. The game is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while the app will be available on iOS and Android devices.
