Star Wars: Battlefront II Players Will Choose a Side in The Last Jedi DLC

Shortly after living out their fantasies in the forthcoming Star Wars: Battlefront II, fans will be able to experience The Last Jedi, the next episode in the long-running film saga. EA today detailed how some of Battlefront II’s post-launch content will tie in with the film on their website, describing The Last Jedi Season as containing new heroes, maps, vehicles and other goodies.

First off, the season (beginning Dec. 5) will have players choose between two factions: the Resistance and the First Order. Each faction will feature their own challenges that will grant various rewards. Then on Dec. 13, the characters of Finn and Captain Phasma (seen facing off in The Last Jedi’s latest full trailer) will be added as playable heroes, purchasable through in-game currency. Expect both Heroes to have their own sets of unique abilities.

New maps will debut on the same day, planetary map Crait (the mineral planet from the new movie) and Starfighter Assault map D’Qar (the location of the Resistance base in The Force Awakens). Tallie Lintra from the new film will be playable in an A-Wing fighter, and Poe Dameron’s X-Wing will receive a new ability. Dec. 13 will also bring about a new chapter in the single-player campaign, titled “Resurrection.” This additional story will depict protagonist Commander Iden Versio “during the days of the First Order’s rise to power.”

As opposed to the season pass of the first Battlefront, all of this content (and more) will be available for free—unless you count the game’s loot crates. A “Play First Trial” is allowing players to try out the game before its Nov. 17 release. Players can also start playing the Deluxe Edition of the game beginning on Nov. 14. Check out the game’s launch trailer here.
