Red Bull Announces Proving Grounds 2017

Red Bull announced Saturday their second season of Red Bull Proving Grounds, which is a series of amateur, regional qualifying tournaments meant to find the best amateur Street Fighter V players.

This year, the tournament has expanded into a double season, adding five new “Red Bull Proving Grounds Qualifying Stops.” Competitors will be given chances to prove their skills in Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, as well as remotely in a number of online tournaments.

Three winners from each tournament will be flown to Red Bull’s eSports studio in Santa Monica to compete in the finals in June. Then, the top eight players will each be given the chance to compete at EVO 2017 in Las Vegas.

At each qualifying stop, Red Bull will team up with local members of each fighting game community. The full list includes:

Jimmy Nguyen and Alex Valle of Level Up (Los Angeles)
Larry S. Dixon Jr. of Final Round (Atlanta)
Chris Anderson and Deniz Bengisoy of Game Clucks (Seattle)
Noah Vandercook of Ignite Gaming (Chicago)
Eric Small of bigE Gaming (Philadelphia)
