Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Gets a Story Teaser

At the end of August, CD Projekt Red announced that GWENT: Thronebreaker, the planned single-player story campaign to the studio’s GWENT card game, was no more. Over the course of its development, the game became a standalone game titled Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. On Thursday, CD Projekt Red released a short but exciting story teaser for the game.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will be a 30-hour RPG that follows the journey of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms. The teaser consists of a rapid slideshow of different characters and scenes that players will see in the game. The video also reveals the planned release date for the title, which is now up for preorder.

CD Projekt Red has also just launched the official website for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, which you can visit here for more information on the game.

The game’s description, according to the website, reads:

The world stands on the verge of chaos, as the tensions between the power-hungry Nilfgaardian Empire and proud Northern Realms grow. Facing an imminent invasion, Meve — war-veteran Queen of Lyria and Rivia — is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

The game will have 30+ hours of gameplay, 100+ tailor-made card battles, never-before-seen lands and characters and 20 brand new Gwent cards.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will be released on Oct. 23 for PC via GOG.com, which is partnered with CD Projekt Red. The game is due out on Dec. 4 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can preorder it now for PC at the price of $29.99 and watch the story teaser below.
