As you, an internet user, are almost certainly aware by now, a certain revelation from Stormy Daniels’ forthcoming book Full Disclosure has been making the rounds on the internet today, and it’s not pleasant. GIF below, shared by writer Will Perkins, manages to be funny while also making a staggering observation: No matter how gross you find Trump’s toadstool as Daniels describes it, the situation in which Trump revealed it is exponentially grosser. It’s a reminder that applies to Trump’s entire presidency: As absurd, lowbrow and perversely entertaining as it all can be, the reality is that the sideshow belies real-world suffering—the consequences of electing a president who, deep down, just wishes he was in another castle.
