Hail to the King, baby. Starz has debuted the first teaser for Ash vs Evil Dead, the upcoming television sequel to the Evil Dead films.
Star Bruce Campbell reprises his role as Ashley “Ash” Williams, former S-Mart employee and chainsaw-handed monster exterminator. He’s spent the past 30 years avoiding responsibility and Deadites, but when a plague of the undead threatens to destroy the entire world, he’s forced to be a hero once more.
Lucy Lawless (Spartacus) joins him as Ruby, a mysterious woman who believes Ash is the cause of the Deadite invasion. Campbell and Lawless previously worked together on Xena: Warrior Princess.
Ash is also joined by Jill Marie Jones (Sleepy Hollow) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper on a mission to find Ash and prove his responsibility in the murder of her partner. Ray Santiago (Touch) and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) round out the cast.
Ash vs Evil Dead is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Campbell. Raimi will direct the first episode.
The 10-episode first season is set to premiere later this year.
