Watch the Chilling Trailer for Netflix Documentary Casting JonBenet

Netflix has just released the first full-length trailer for their original documentary Casting JonBenet. It’s pretty chilling stuff, and has an interesting setup that could push the borders of what a documentary is.

Casting JonBenet will revisit the infamously still-unsolved murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, and it will do so by using actors to recreate certain elements of the story. Judging by the trailer, they’ve also asked auditioning cast members about their own theories and ideas as to what happened in the actual case, whether they’re sensationalistic or not. There’s also footage of the production, which is a visually interesting approach to the documentary filmmaking process.

Casting JonBenet will come straight to Netflix on April 28, and it will also see a limited theatrical run. Check out the trailer embedded above.
