Disney’s Live-Action Mulan Remake Gets a Release Date

Movies News Disney

Following Disney’s live-action adaptations of Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book, and their recent announcement of live-action adaptations of Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, Nov. 2, 2018 has been set as the release date for the live-action Mulan remake.

Originally released in 1998, Mulan has grossed $304.3 million worldwide. The live-action version has been fast-tracked, and Disney has—thank goodness—embarked on a global search for a Chinese actress to play the movie’s titular heroine.

Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Jurassic World) were brought on board by Disney to rewrite the Mulan spec script written by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin. Jason Reed (Alice in Wonderland), along with Chris Bender (The Hangover) and Jake Weiner (Zombeavers) will produce the film. A director has yet to be announced.
