Another month has somehow slipped by and yet another batch of movies and shows are coming and going from HBO Now next month.
March will see the arrival of a duo of new documentaries, with the first being Cries from Syria, a harrowing, inside look at the Syrian civil war from director Evgeny Afineevsky. The other is the Dwayne Johnson-starring-and-produced Rock and a Hard Place, which takes a look into the lives of young people allowed to trade long prison sentences for freedom by way of the Miami-Dade County Corrections Rehabilitation Boot Camp.
Starting off the month will be the premiere of the unscripted series UConn: The March to Madness, which will follow the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball team in their effort to win a fifth consecutive national championship during the 2016-2017 season. On the comedy front, Animals returns for its second season while Jerrod Carmichael’s second HBO stand-up special, Jerrod Carmichael: 8, airs in the middle of the month. You’ll also be able to catch Neighbors 2: Sorority Uprising on the same day if you missed it the first time around in theaters. As for other recent theatrical sequels, you can check out X-Men: Apocalypse, Ice Age: Collision and Independence Day: Resurgence next month, too.
As for what’s going away from the service, Brooklyn and The Danish Girl (both of which were nominated for Oscars in 2016) are leaving HBO in March, so you know what that means: watch Brooklyn. It’s wonderful.
