Ryan Reynolds, James Mangold Deny Reports that Reynolds Shot a Scene for Logan as Deadpool

Movies News Logan

Though it was reported earlier that Ryan Reynolds filmed a scene for Logan as Deadpool, both Reynolds and Logan director James Mangold have issued denials of that possibility.

Citing an anonymous source close to the production, The Wrap reported that Reynolds recently filmed the scene with Deadpool 2 director David Leitch. The scene was said to appear after Logan’s end credits, which would make sense since Deadpool’s inclusion in the movie proper would all but certainly break the somber tone it appears to be going for.

Naturally, Fox has declined to comment on the report, and in theory Deadpool appearing in Logan wouldn’t be too surprising. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have both talked about wanting to see the characters together on-screen, and considering how well Deadpool did at the box office, Fox has an incentive to get him in everything X-Men-related they can. But both Reynolds and Mangold have denied that is the case in Logan, with Mangold in particular vehemently and repeatedly insisting that The Wrap’s report is false.

Logan releases on March 3, 2017. Watch the trailer here, and find the tweets from Reynolds and Mangold denying that Deadpool appears in Logan below.
