Pee-wee’s Big Comeback Continues with Teaser for Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday on Netflix

All Pee-wee Herman’s hermits can rejoice! Pee-wee is back and has a premiere date, March 18, for his Netflix movie, Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. The Judd Apatow film is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW, but now audiences won’t have to wait long to stream all the silliness in their own homes.

Paul Ruebens has been working the latest installment alongside Apatow and writer Paul Rust for the past five years, but Netflix scooped the movie as an exclusive in February, 2015. In addition to Ruebens, the Pee-wee comeback stars Joe Mangianello, Jessica Pohly, and Alia Shawkat and was directed by John Lee—best known for his work on the MTV2 cult hit, Wonder Showzen.

According to Netflix, “a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny.” But if that’s not enigmatic enough for you, the on-demand streaming service released a brief teaser that, despite doing little to quench audience curiosity, features an impressive Rube Goldberg device and a quintessentially Pee-wee moment at a stoplight. The bowtie is back in action, and its return is sure to dazzle fans, new and old, with absurd zaniness and endless fun.
