Watch the Chilling Trailer for Risk, Showtime’s Julian Assange Documentary

Showtime recently picked up Risk, the new Laura Poitras documentary about Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, and has just released the chilling trailer. Poitras is the Academy Award-winning documentarian best known for Citizenfour, the 2014 documentary focused on Edward Snowden.

Risk was made over the course of six years, and is still being updated to cover the 2016 presidential campaign and the impact Wikileaks had on the Democratic Party. It’s crazy, after its premiere at Cannes, that this film is still in production. It’s so timely that it’s actually happening now. Wild.

Showtime is partnering with Neon to get Risk a limited theatrical run, followed by a premiere on Showtime this summer. Check out the trailer, which debuted during last night’s Homeland finale, above.
