Prepare Your Feels for the 30th Anniversary Edition of Transformers: The Movie

Movies News

Michael Bay and Marky Mark can have their Last Knight, because 1986’s Transformers: The Movie has everything a Transformers fan could ever want: the final, brutal showdown between Optimus Prime and Megatron, Unicron eating entire planets, the Dinobots, your favorite characters getting mercilessly butchered as the Autobots and Decepticons wage all-out war, and an insanely kickass soundtrack. Its excellence alone (which you can sample right here) is enough to send the more diehard fans into tears at the mere mention of the modern films.

Well, transform those frowns and roll out the tears of joy, Transformers faithful, for Shout! Factory has answered your prayers. They’re releasing a Blu-ray version of the original film just in time for its 30th anniversary on Sept. 13, but you can pre-order it now here. In the meantime, behold their gorgeous cover art below as you wax nostalgic about this fun little ‘80s toy movie full of wanton destruction and despair.
