Want Gandalf To Officiate Your Wedding? Too Bad

Bad news, Lord of the Rings fans: “Gandalf doesn’t do weddings,” according to none other than Sir Ian McKellen.

In June 2013, Facebook mogul and Napster co-founder Sean Parker and his now-wife, singer Alexandra Lenas, asked Sir McKellen to officiate their wedding dressed as Gandalf for $1.5 million. The actor declined the offer, telling The Daily Mail he would have considered doing so had he not been under the stipulation of dressing as Gandalf.

It’s not clear whether the couple wanted McKellen to appear as Gandalf the Grey or Gandalf the White, but one thing seems certain: don’t expect the wizard to oversee your wedding, no matter the price.
