Movies Features Soundtrack

The Diary of a Teenage Girl made waves during its debut at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and has been garnering critical acclaim ever since as it approaches its nation-wide release on Aug. 28. The film adaptation of the coming-of-age graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner, The Diary of a Teenage Girl stars Bel Powley, Kristen Wiig, Alexander Skarsgård and Christopher Meloni, telling the story of Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley) ans she comes of age in 1976 San Francisco and begins “a complex love affair” with her mother’s boyfriend.

Now, Paste is teaming up with Rhino Entertainment to give away a copy of the film’s soundtrack on vinyl, which captures a slice of life that Minnie Goetze experiences as a teen coming of age in the mid-’70s. The soundtrack reflects the twilight of hippie culture and the dawn of punk rock via artists such as Heart (“Dreamboat Annie”), T. Rex (“Precious Star”), Nico (“Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams”) The Stooges (“Down on the Street”) and Television (“See No Evil”). The collection also includes lead track “Dreamsong,” by Nate Heller, featuring Amber Coffman of the Dirty Projectors. The Diary of a Teenage Girl soundtrack is available now on vinyl LP and digital.

Contest winner will receive: (1) The Diary of a Teenage Girl soundtrack LP, (1) 27’‘x40’’ The Diary of a Teenage Girl theatrical movie poster.
