The world has reached a new level of Star Wars hype: the trailers have trailers now. Disney has released a 15-second teaser announcing that the new Rogue One trailer will air on Thursday during Olympic coverage.
The clip grants quick glimpses at characters including rebel soldier Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), rebel officer Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), warrior monk Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and a new droid, with shots of stormtroopers flailing on the ground and AT-AT walkers wreaking havoc. Exciting stuff, though, sadly, it’s Vader-less—fortunately for us all, the film won’t be.
The forthcoming trailer will mark the first official full-length trailer to be released for Rogue One, which will be released as a film in its entirety on Dec. 16. The clip previously released in April was promoted as a “teaser.”
