Natalie Portman Sings New Sia Song “Wrapped Up” in Latest Vox Lux Trailer

The new Vox Lux trailer is here, and it features the film’s first original song, the power-pop ballad “Wrapped Up,” written by Sia and Greg Kurstin. Natalie Portman, starring in Vox Lux as pop star Celeste, performs the track with Raffey Cassidy, playing a teenage version of her character.

Vox Lux starts in 1999, when teenage sisters Celeste (Cassidy) and Eleanor (Stacy Martin) survive a violent tragedy, and use the experience to compose and perform the song, which catapults Celeste into stardom. By 2017, however, the now 31-year-old Celeste is forced to overcome her personal and familial struggles to navigate motherhood, madness and fame. Jude Law also stars as Celeste’s talent manager, who helps the all-grown-up Celeste mount a comeback with an ambitious sci-fi concept album titled Vox Lux.

Written and directed by Brady Corbet, Vox Lux features original songs by Sia and a score by Scott Walker.

The film’s first trailer highlighted Portman’s larger-than-life transformation into a pop diva, and now the latest look introduces fans to the song that made Celeste a star in the first place.

“Wrapped Up” is another solid entry for fans of Sia’s uplifting power ballads, and fans should look out for the full track’s official release on Dec. 7, the same day that Vox Lux opens in N.Y. and L.A. NEON expands Vox Lux nationwide on Dec. 14, with Columbia Records and Three Six Zero Recordings also releasing the soundtrack that same day.
