In 1986, A Conspiracy of Hope— a small tour of benefit concerts— raised money for Amnesty International across the United States. The event brought together some of music’s biggest stars, including Lou Reed, Joan Baez, The Police, Joan Armatrading, U2, Sting, and Peter Gabriel, among others.

On June 15, 1986, the tour made its final stop at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium, and the entire event was televised on MTV. Below, listen to some of our exclusive recordings from the iconic concert, which featured the world’s best rock music for an incredible cause.
