Allison Crutchfield Will Release Her Solo Album on Merge Next Year

Music News Allison Crutchfield

Sisters Allison and Katie Crutchfield have seen musical success together in P.S. Eliot, as well as separately in Waxahatchee and Swearin’, respectively.

Today, Merge, Waxahatchee’s current label, announced the release of Allison’s first solo album next year.

“Signing with Merge was always sort of a fantasy milestone in my mind, like winning an Oscar or opening a bakery in New England. It was something I dreamed about a hundred times as a teenager but never thought could actually happen,” said Crutchfield in a statement. “I’ve been fortunate enough to really get to know the Merge family over the last year, and now that I’m a grown-up, I’m so grateful to be able to call Merge home.”

No word on an official release date or other details about the so-far untitled album.

Previously, Crutchfield released the Lean In To It EP in 2014. Her last album with Swearin’ was 2013’s Surfing Strange. Later this year, Don Giovanni will release a remastered compilation album of P.S. Eliot’s entire recorded output.

Crutchfield and her backing band The Fizz are set to tour this fall with a few dates supporting The Julie Ruin. Check those out below, beneath audio of Lean In To It cut “No One Talks.”
