French Singer Barbara Weldens Dies Onstage

French singer Barbara Weldens died during a performance in Gourdon, France, last night after collapsing onstage. She was 35 years old.

Weldens’ cause of death is unknown at this time. According to the BBC, the 35-year-old suffered cardiac arrest in the church where she was performing as part of Festival Léo Ferré. Police have not commented on the circumstances of her death, nor will they speculate on them. Weldens was a circus performer before delving into music. She received the Pic D’Or prize in 2016 and had just released her first album, Le Grand H de L’Homme, in February of this year.
