The 2019 Grammys Best Dressed List

Last night was a big one for women in the music industry. It almost felt like the 2019 Grammy Awards were dedicated to them, with stellar performances by Brandi Carlile, Cardi B and Kacey Musgraves, as well as a massive tribute to Dolly Parton.

It was a welcome surprise after last year’s unfortunate misstep by The Recording Academy’s departing president, Neil Portnow—if you don’t remember, he said women in the industry need to “step up.” That was quite the unnecessary and unwarranted dig in the #MeToo era, and women both in and out of the industry have certainly not forgotten it.

What wasn’t a surprise but still as welcome as ever this year were the looks served by the award show attendees and performers. It’s standard to bring your best to the Grammys, and while this year there were no looks as iconic as J-Lo’s green silk dress in 2000, there was plenty to look at and a ton to admire.

Here are the top looks at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Bebe Rexha

Bebe Rexha was fed up earlier this year because she was told she was too big to dress at the Grammys, which is insane because she’s a healthy size 6-8. Luckily, several designers swooped in to support the singer and she landed on this beautiful tiered Monsoori gown. (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images.)

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa won Best New Artist, threw a bit of necessary shade at Portnow in her speech, and wore this stunning silver Versace gown on the red carpet. It must have been a pretty great night for Dua. (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images.)

Tracee Ellis Ross

Kacey Musgraves

Maren Morris

H.E.R.

Lady Gaga

While Lady Gaga looked less “Lady Gaga” than usual at the Grammys (remember the Bowie ensemble?), she still looked pretty dang perfect in her silver Celine by Hedi Slimane dress. (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images.)

BTS

Every single member of BTS looks good, but that’s really no surprise. The group loves style and it shows. (Photo by Rich Fury/Getty Images for The Recording Academy.)

Young Thug

Last but not least is Young Thug, somehow pulling off khakis on the red carpet. It’s not traditional, but he looks both comfortable and mad cool. (Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for The Recording Academy.)
