Grizzly Bear Have a New Song, “Three Rings,” Coming Out Tonight

What a good day for new music from bands that have been gone for awhile. News broke earlier of LCD Soundsystem putting out two new songs at midnight, and now it seems like Grizzly Bear are following suit with their first new bit of music since 2012’s Shields.

The song is titled “Three Rings,” and it’s already technically out in New Zealand on iTunes—you can see that page here. Chris Cantalini of Gorilla vs. Bear has heard the song and said it was an “emotionally intense jam that feels like a welcome nod to majestic, beloved Yellow House vibes while also signaling an adventurous and potentially more experimental sonic move by the group.”

Grizzly Bear started teasing something with an enigmatic video clip about a month ago, and have been steadily adding similar teasers to their Instagram account—now it appears we know what that’s all about. If you need a refresher, check the first short clip out down below. Also, give a listen to Grizzly Bear’s 2007 Daytrotter Session from the Paste Cloud, and stay tuned for more on their new music.
