Iggy Pop and Jack White Headline Inaugural CBGB Festival

CBGB & OMFUG have announced the CBGB Festival, which will be held at Under The K Bridge Park in Brooklyn on September 27. Iggy Pop and Jack White are set to headline, with the rest of the 21-act lineup featuring heavy hitters like the Melvins, Sex Pistols with Frank Carter and Johnny Marr, rounded out by up-and-comers YHWH Nailgun, Lambrini Girls, Soul Glo, Lip Critic and the Linda Lindas.

The festival aims to honor New York City’s underground punk scene with both legacy and rising acts. According to a press release, the festival lineup was created as an answer to the question “Who would be playing at CBGB today?” The original CBGB club, founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973, served as a proving ground for punk and new wave acts like Blondie, Television, and Talking Heads.

CBGB Festival will be Iggy Pop’s first performance in New York City since 2016, and comes weeks after he wraps his summer 2025 tour. He’s on the bill for 15 other festivals throughout the summer, including Project Pabst in Portland, Sweden’s Way Out West, and The Town in São Paulo. White, Paste’s 2024 Artist of the Year, has been on high speed since the surprise release of No Name last August (which sat at #18 on our year-end list). He finished out last year touring in Australia and started the second leg in St. Louis last month.

The venue, located beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge, has been hosting concerts and festivals since 2022. The grounds for the fest will include merch, food and drink, and CBGB-themed installations.

Tickets will be sold in partnership with The Bowery Presents. Presale is Thursday, May 15, at 10 AM ET (register at CBFBGEST.COM). Public sale is Friday, May 16, at 10 AM ET. New York residents under 25 can get a “Young Punk” discounted GA ticket at a box office pop-up at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday, May 17 at 12 PM ET.
