Live at the Paste Studio: Jessica Lea Mayfield – “Standing In The Sun”

With three solo albums under her belt and an Elliott Smith covers album with Seth Avett, it’s easy to forget that Jessica Lea Mayfield is just 26 years old. But then, she’s been a touring musician for most of those years, playing in her family’s bluegrass band at the age of eight. That musicianship and wise-beyond-years songwriting shows up in everything she does, and it was a pleasure to witness that when she visited the Paste Studio in New York during this year’s CMJ.
