The problems with love and life are many.
They never get better or simpler.
Love and life are wooly and Ken Stringfellow describes them perfectly.
There is a duality that both love and life share and it’s that duality that makes them so slippery and so diverse, from one person to the next.
Stringfellow, who has played in legendary American bands The Posies, R.E.M. and Big Star in his 44 years, understands that we all take advantage of our time and other’s humble sweetness, their humanity and humility. We also give unconditionally of the same things, even when we feel that we’re being exploited. It’s in the blood. It never passes. He sings, “Everybody thinks they are a lover and a fighter/A kind of spaceship hero,” and it explains a lot. Time dances around every dream and yet, promise is always in the air that the cuts aren’t going to go in so deeply.
