Kid Cudi Announces New Album, Netflix Animated Series with black-ish Creator Kenya Barris

Kid Cudi announced on Monday that he will release a new album and Netflix animated series, both titled Entergalactic, set for 2020 releases.

Kid Cudi, also known as Scott Mescudi, will release Entergalactic via Republic Records, and will partner with black-ish creator Kenya Barris to co-write, direct, and executive produce the animated show.

According to a Netflix press release, Entergalactic “follows a young man on his journey to discover love” and will showcase music from Kid Cudi’s forthcoming album of the same name.

In a tweet on Monday, the rapper acknowledged his newly announced project, writing, “Im just gettin started!! “Entergalactic” coming next year!!”

Kid Cudi released the acclaimed joint album Kids See Ghosts with Kanye West last June. Entergalactic will be Cudi’s first full-length solo LP since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.

Regarding his acting career, Kid Cudi notably appeared in HBO’s How to Make It in America, and will be featured in the new season of Westworld. He will also appear in the forthcoming 2020 films Dreamland, starring Armie Hammer and Michelle Rodriguez, and Bill and Ted Face The Music with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.

Kid Cudi will also lend his acting talents to the forthcoming, Luca Guadagnino-directed HBO show We Are Who We Are with Chloe Sevigny.
