Everybody in New York City Is “Fake Happy” in Paramore’s New Video

Paramore are still riding on the highs of success after putting out After Laughter in May. They just finished up performing a string of North American dates and will be tackling a few U.S. festivals next month before embarking on the European leg of their tour at the beginning of next year. In the meantime, they’ve released the video for “Fake Happy,” which was directed by drummer Zac Farro.

The plot of the clip mirrors the energy of the song, starting out solemnly and then opening up into a upbeat, synth-driven melody as Hayley Williams gallivants around New York wearing a sparkly bodysuit. She sets out to find sincerity as she passes by people whose expressions are masked by cartoon, upside-down smiley faces.

Watch the video for “Fake Happy” below, and read our review of After Laughter here.
