Pixies Announce New Album Head Carrier, Release New Single “Um Chagga Lagga”

Music News Pixies

Pixies released some albums, broke up, got back together and released some more albums.

Now, the band is back with their second post-reunion album (their sixth LP since forming in 1988), Head Carrier, due out Sept. 30.

The current lineup of the alt-rock group includes founding members Black Francis (a.k.a. Frank Black), David Lovering and Joey Santiago plus the relatively new Paz Lenchantin.

The Boston band also released the first single from the forthcoming album, “Um Chagga Lagga.” Yes, that is the actual name of the song. Classic Pixies move to name a song that, right? The song itself is delightfully scuzzy and built on the lyrical idiosyncrasies that we’ve come to know and love from Pixies.

The band will also embark on a new set of European tour dates in November, with a full-on world tour soon to follow.

You can listen to “Um Chagga Lagga” and preorder Head Carrier via the band’s website here. Find Pixies’ upcoming European tour dates here.
