Precious Bryant – The Truth

Sixty-three-year-old Georgia native stomps the blues on sophomore effort Stylistically, a disciple of Elizabeth Cotten and a contemporary of folks like Taj Mahal and the late Ted Hawkins, Precious Bryant’s acoustic picking and strumming wraps around you like a warm quilt on a winter’s day. There’s something comforting about her deep-South croon, and with The Truth’s mix of originals and standards she branches out from straight country-blues folk, adding hints of soul, gospel, R&B and Chicago blues to her peaches ‘n’ red clay Southwest Georgia blend.
