Pussy Riot Launch Campaign to Fund Immersive Theatrical Show

The Russian punk-rock feminists of Pussy Riot are embarking on a new project to show the world “what it means to be a political opponent in Russia today.”

In collaboration with the experimental London theater company Les Enfants Terrible, Pussy Riot have created an immersive autobiographical stage show which will let the audience experience what the group did when they were sent to prison for two years after a disruptive performance at a cathedral in Moscow. Inside Pussy Riot is set to run for six weeks at the Saatchi Gallery in London starting in this fall. Pussy Riot member Nadya Tolokonnikova will perform in a select number of shows.

To fund the production, they have launched a Kickstarter campaign that features rewards for donors ranging from Pussy Riot t-shirts to a tour of Moscow with Tolokonnikova. The campaign has a four-week goal of $78,075.
