Radiohead Exceed One Billion Streams on Pandora

Music News radiohead

If you were to count up Radiohead’s individual Pandora plays, it would take you about 95 years.

Radiohead has seen a massive upswing in Pandora listening since the semi-surprise release of their ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool. The band’s staggering spin total on the internet radio platform—the only place their latest initially streamed for free—is now in excess of one billion. That’s a thousand million, you guys.

After disappearing from the web, then reappearing only to tease mysterious lead single “Burn the Witch,” Radiohead managed to inspire a tidal wave of hype for their new record. It appears that wave has broken all over Pandora: in addition to surpassing one billion spins, the band has also seen a 301 percent increase in station adds.

Widespread interest in the new and exclusive Radiohead has generated similar listening spikes in old and accessible Radiohead. Streaming for the band’s 1993 track “How Do You” is up 390 percent, and their 2000 track “Motion Picture Soundtrack” is up 250 percent.

Physical copies of A Moon Shaped Pool are due out June 17, and available for preorder here. You can help pad Radiohead’s Pandora stats here. Find Paste Cloud audio from the band below.
