Daily Dose: Russian Baths, “Wrong”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

Brooklyn duo Russian Baths are prepping the release of their debut album Deepfake, out on Nov. 8 via Good Eye Records, and today (Oct. 31), they’ve unveiled a suitably steamy and spooky new single, “Wrong.” It follows the release of three previous singles, “Parasite,” “Tracks” and “Responder.”

“Wrong” perfects the art of dreamy disarray. Its subtle guitar assault builds a brooding tension as Luke Koz’s vocals morph from sympathetic dream-pop to distorted psych-rock to unwavering hardcore. Whether they’re embracing noise rock, dream pop, gothic rock or blackgaze, Russian Baths make head-banging tumult sound elegant.

Russian Baths play a record release show in Brooklyn at St. Vitus with Bambara, and you can buy tickets here.
