Today, we’re presenting an old fellow that has special moments attached to it. It’s one of our favorite Minneapolis bands, Solid Gold, and this session was taped just moments after they performed as the backing back for Naughty By Nature, a wild coincidence that came about with a simple ask. Both were in town because of a holiday charity show that we put on the night before. The temperature outside was brutally cold – bitter as all hell – and it was reason enough for the bottle of Hennessey that Treach finished off. These three old songs were taped with sunglasses on and lights dimmed. Still, to this day, one of the greatest afternoons in Daytrotter history. These songs smolder.
