Spoon are being cryptic about something. The band posted an image of an X-ray of a distorted skull to their Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook and official website, with no comment about what it means. Of course, the immediate suggestion is that the band is teasing its next album after 2014’s They Want My Soul.
It would seem that the image is important. All of Spoon’s social media profile pictures have been changed to the odd-looking skull, and their official website now only consists of the image and an email signup form. After submitting your email address, the text “Thank You” and “Coming Soon…” appears. On top of that, Matador Records also shared the image without comment, leading some to speculate that Spoon has re-signed with the record label after 20 years.
