Watch The Weeknd Perform New Tracks “Starboy” and “False Alarm” on SNL Season Premiere

Over the week(e)nd Canadian R&B star The Weeknd performed his two new tracks “Starboy” and “False Alarm” on the premiere of SNL’s 42nd season.

Abel Tesfaye—the singer’s real name—brought pitch-perfect vocals and unbridled enthusiasm to the two songs, which he had shared this past week from his forthcoming album Starboy, due to be released Nov. 25. With shredding screams and flashing lights, he pulled out all the stops for “False Alarm.”

Tesfaye even made a brief appearance on SNL’s classic “Weekend Update” sketch … sort of. Check out “The Weeknd Update” below, beneath his “False Alarm” performance, and watch him perform “Starboy” above.
