Thom Yorke Announces Solo North American Tour, Will Debut New Music

After teasing new music via hotline ads in newspapers and metro trains, Thom Yorke has announced a series of live shows in North America with his Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes project.

The live electronic performances will feature Yorke and collaborators Nigel Godrich and Tarik Barri performing cuts from Yorke’s solo albums The Eraser and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, picks from his supergroup Atoms For Peace’s debut album Amok, and new and unreleased material.

Yorke independently released his latest solo effort Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes in 2014, and recruited producer Godrich and audiovisual composer Barri to tour in support of the album. The trio toured intermittently throughout Europe, Japan and North American festival circuits after XL Recordings reissued the album in 2017.

Yorke has kept busy after scoring 2018’s Suspiria remake by debuting and performing new electronic material from his forthcoming solo album at live shows earlier this year. Here’s everything we know about the album so far.

Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes will embark on a short run through Europe and Asia before heading to Quebec and rounding out the tour in Los Angeles. Tickets for the North American dates will go on general sale on June 21, and you can check out the dates (and revisit a 1995 Radiohead performance from the Paste archives) below.
