Ty Segall to Appear as First-Ever Musical Guest on Comedy Central’s The Opposition with Jordan Klepper

Segall will become the first-ever musical guest on The Opposition with Jordan Klepper, appearing on tonight’s new episode of the Comedy Central news satire show. A press release promises “a special solo performance and perhaps other shenanigans!” The performance will be made available to watch online right here on Tuesday.
Segall also wrote and recorded The Opposition’s theme song, so it’s only right that he takes the show’s stage in earnest. The Klepper-hosted Daily Show spinoff hasn’t done particularly well with critics, but it has found some success in terms of viewership.
Segall has already released a number of singles from Freedom’s Goblin—which a press release describes as “the free-est bunch of pop songs Ty has ever put on tape”—including “Every 1’s a Winner,” “Alta,” “Meaning,” “My Lady’s On Fire” and “The Main Pretender.” He also debuted a song from the album called “Fanny Dog” on Conan in December.
Catch Segall on The Opposition tonight at 11:30 p.m. EST, and listen to his 2010 Daytrotter Session below. Freedom’s Goblin is due out on Jan. 26, soon after which Segall will kick off a U.S. tour—find out more about the album and see Segall’s upcoming tour slate here.
