Taco Truck Wall to Surround Las Vegas Trump Hotel Prior to Final Presidential Debate

Politics News Donald Trump

Self-proclaimed taco bowl advocate Donald Trump will be served up a literal taste of his own “build a wall” mentality this Wednesday, Oct. 19. Prior to the final presidential debate, being held at UNLV at 9 p.m. EST, a wall of taco trucks will surround Trump’s Las Vegas hotel, thanks to The Culinary Union.

The delicious protest comes partly in response to an absurd warning issued this summer by Latinos for Trump founder Marco Gutierrez, who prophesied the impending doom of “taco trucks on every corner.” The Culinary Union, who have rallied against Trump in the past, aim to assemble at least five taco trucks outside the hotel, along with a wall-style banner that participants will be able to sign.

“We’re reminding Mr. Trump that immigrant workers here and across the country will be watching the debate and voting in November,” The Culinary Union’s political director Yvanna Cancela told Buzzfeed News.

Comprised predominantly of Latinxs and immigrants, the union has held nearly 10 rallies outside Trump’s hotel since unionizing last December, arguing that the Republican nominee is illegally refusing to bargain with them. The Culinary Union and other groups have also made efforts to naturalize immigrants who wish to vote against Trump in November, including some of his own hotel workers. However, according to Buzzfeed News, the Trump campaign welcomes the tasty barrier, because who wouldn’t?
