ABC Reveals Fall TV Schedule, Delays Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to Summer 2019

With the influx of Marvel projects constantly swirling about the entertainment sphere, there’s bound to be some delays.

This time, it’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D who’s taking the hit. The premiere date for the smaller 13-episode season six of the ABC action drama has been pushed back to summer 2019, per EW, one of the more surprising announcements that arrived today with ABC’s fall 2018 schedule. The other major Marvel project coming next summer is the still-untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War, scheduled to hit theaters May 3, 2019.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been on the air since 2013, with season five wrapping up this week. The show follows the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., naturally, as they navigate and fight back against the dangers and supervillains of the Marvel Universe.

ABC’s fall television slate also sees Alec Baldwin’s forthcoming talk show sporting a new title: Previously it was called Sundays with Alec Baldwin, and the new name is a more traditional The Alec Baldwin Show.

In other non-news, Shondaland series will maintain their hold on the Thursday slot, and drama The Good Doctor will stay on Mondays. More surprisingly, comedies Fresh Off the Boat and Speechless are moving to Fridays. You can read the entire schedule here and revisit our feature on season five of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D right here.
