American Horror Story Creator Ryan Murphy Reveals Murder House/Coven Crossover

TV News american horror story

On Sunday, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy announced that the show would be crossing over Murder House and Coven characters in a forthcoming season.

Speaking at EW’s Ryan Murphy and Friends panel at PopFest, Murphy described the plan for the season as “very bizarre” and “weird” (which pretty much goes without saying), but also said not to expect it anytime soon. “It’s not going to be next season,” he said. “It’s not next year because it takes too long to plan.”

Though the crossover is still a ways off, Murphy has already started to let actors know when they plan on shooting the season: “I’ve started going to the actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in,’” though he doesn’t say who exactly he’s been speaking to about coming back.

And if that wasn’t enough news for AHS fans, Murphy also announced today as a Halloween surprise that Sarah Paulson’s Asylum character, Lana Winters, would be returning for the current season of American Horror Story, Roanoke.

It’s not clear whether Paulson will be appearing on this Wednesday’s episode, so you’ll have to watch to find out. AHS airs on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
