FX Favorites Atlanta, The Americans Set for March Returns

In a surprise move Friday afternoon, FX Networks announced the premiere dates for two of the network’s highly rated, critically acclaimed series, along with new drama Trust.

First in the lineup is the award-winning, Donald Glover-helmed comedy Atlanta premiering on March 1. After an inaugural season filled with water cooler moments and high ratings, the second season, titled Atlanta Robbin’ Season, will continue its bizarre yet truthful take on the Atlanta music scene as viewers continue to follow Earn (Glover), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) and the rest of the motley crew of this seminal show.

The Atlanta Robbin’ Season premiere is followed by the March 28 return of the acclaimed drama The Americans in its sixth and final season. After revealing their true identities to daughter Paige, Russian spies Phillip and Elizabeth must now try to keep a façade of normalcy in their American surroundings as the Cold War drives a wedge in their relationship.

Along with the return of those two beloved series, the network is premiering Danny Boyle-directed freshman drama Trust on March 25. Based on true events, the series follows the much-talked-about lives of one of America’s wealthiest families, the Gettys. Following the December release of Ridley Scott’s acclaimed All the Money in the World, the series might be able to capture the American public with its mix of family history, melodrama and greed. The series boasts a stellar cast led by Oscar winners Donald Sutherland and Hilary Swank, along with Michael Esper and Brendan Fraser.

As streaming and mobile devices continue to change television, FX manages to keep things exciting with its intriguing brand of television. Find out more about Atlanta and The Americans here and here.
