After being received warmly by audiences and critics alike, HBO’s Ballers and Insecure have both been renewed for another season. Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming, announced the shows’ respective renewals today.
“We’re thrilled that the summer lineup of Ballers and Insecure connected with our viewers out of the gate,” said Gravitt. “We’re so proud to work with Dwayne, Issa and all of the amazing talent in both shows.” Dwayne is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, whose Ballers performance as a retired NFL player managing the finances of current NFL players is one of his best to date. Issa Rae is the driving force behind Insecure as a writer, creator and lead actor, bringing her web series Awkward Black Girl to premium television.
The announcement means Ballers will be entering its fourth season, while Insecure gears up for a third. Specific premiere dates have yet to be announced; more details to come as we receive them.
